The main GNTI functions are associated with Laboratory of Integrated Studies of Dynamic Processes in Geophysical Fields (LIS) and GPS laboratory of the Research Station RAS. GNTI key employees have good experience in related works so interchangeability is always provided.

  The most important tasks are to provide the KNET seismic data stream to RS RAS and Institute for Seismology of Kyrgyzstan National Academy of Sciences bases in real time mode. GPS data of 10 permanent stations has to be provided for RS RAS, UNAVCO and Montana state University bases.

  GNTI staff investigates the modern geophysical station equipment, installed and support it operation in accordance with the budget and International projects.

  The uninterrupted operation of the KNET automatic seismic network and GPS network is carried out through daily monitoring of KNET seismic network's operability, timely ordering spare parts and components, preventive maintenance of stations, hardware and software upgrades of stations and data transmission channels, and emergency repair at stations and relays.

  In addition, the auxiliary agreements are prepared in time:

Agreements with institutions allowed their base usage for station installation (Communication Minister), mines, Institute for seismology of Kyrgyzstan National Academy of science, etc.;

  Execution of license documents, radio frequency usage permissions (Communication Agency), Certificates for new equipment.

  GNTI has no scientific task. It only provides qualitative geophysical data for scientific researches.
