We welcome you to the official site of the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city.
Federal State Budget Institution of Science Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek city is the research organization subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russia Federation.
The Research Station of RAS engages 57 scientific workers, including 26 researchers, 2 Doctors of Sciences and 8 Candidates of Sciences among them. The overall staff amounts 133 employees.
On the 23rd of January, 2014, Vitaly Matyukov has successfully defended his Candidate of Science Dissertation called “Deep Structure of Pamir and Tien Shan Conjunction Zone According to Magnetotelluric Sounding Data” at the meeting of the Dissertation Council К25.13.002 under the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic which is located in Bishkek, Asanbai 52/1.
The dissertation was prepared in the Research Station of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Bishkek.
On October 17, 2013, the Research Station celebrated its 35 anniversary.
Our colleagues from Representative Office of RS RAS in Russia and the Counselor of Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic addressed cordial words to Research Station.
The successive round of geophysical field works by the method of magnetotelluric sounding in the territory of Gornyi Badahshan oblast of the Tajik Republic has been successfully completed. These research works were fulfilled in the frame of international collaboration of Research Station and researchers from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Germany: Memorandum of understanding within the Program “Geodynamics of Tian Shan and Pamir”, Agreement on Scientific and Technical Collaboration between RS RAS and the Center for Earth Sciences (Potsdam, Germany), Agreement on Scientific and Technical Collaboration between RS RAS, IRC-GPG and the Institute of Geology, Seismic Construction and Seismology of Academy of Sciences of the Tajik Republic.
Magnetotelluric research on the territory of Pamir Gornyi Badahshan oblast is a part of multi disciplinary international project TIPTIMON (Tien-Shan-Pamir Monitoring Program), aimed to investigation of geodynamic monitoring results and climatic factors interaction for Central Asia states – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
• The research of deep structure of the crust and upper mantle of the Tien Shan and adjacent territories on the base of geophysical methods complex including: seismological, geomagnetical, geoelectrical prospecting, gravimetrical and other methods.
A two-volume edition containing annotations and extended theses of papers of the Fifth International Symposium “Modern Problems of Geodynamics and Geoecology of Intracontinental Orogens” traditionally held in Bishkek on the base of the International Geodynamic Research Center (IGRC) and the Research Station RAS has been published.
